Teaser Tuesday #29

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along, just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Here’s this week’s. As always, you can click on the cover to go to the Goodreads page for this book.

Her dreams were an incoherent flickershow of still images: a gasmask on a cement floor, a dead dog by the side of the road with its head smashed in, a forest of towering pine trees hung with blind white angels.

This last image was so vivid and mysteriously awful – those dark sixty-foot-high trees swaying in the wind like stoned revelers in a pagan ceremony, the angels flashing and gleaming in their branches – that she wanted to scream.

  1. Oh! Not sure about this one. That part about the dog is really bad. Here’s my teaser: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-12n

  2. Oh my word… THAT’S writing with the brakes off! Is is an engrossing read, apart from the very brutal imagery? This is my offering…https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2015/11/24/teaser-tuesday-24th-november/

    • It is an engrossing read, but definitely one of the darkest horror novels I’ve read in a while – not for the faint-hearted! Not sure if you’re aware but Joe Hill is Stephen King’s son, and I think it reads quite like a Stephen King novel. So if you like King, you’re likely to like this! Thanks for visiting 🙂

  3. I still haven’t got to this book and it’s so my kind of story. Probably be a movie before I get to it if I don’t start it soon.

    Here’s my TT – http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/11/24/teaser-tuesdays-137-a-piece-of-you/

    • I’m enjoying it – it is a longer read than average though so difficult to squeeze into the TBR pile! Still if you think it sounds like your kind of book I’d recommend giving it a go – I haven’t been disappointed so far! Thanks for visiting 🙂
