It’s my first Stacking The Shelves post in a little while (due to my Italy holiday earlier this month!) and as I’m a little late in the day I thought that this week I’d link up with The Sunday Post by Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer too. These memes are both about sharing the books added to your shelves this week, and/or events on the blog.
Added to my shelves – for review
Three very different books here, but they all look good! I was recently auto-approved by John Murray Press so was pleased to get The Loney on ‘read now’ as it’s NetGalley’s book of the month for August. I don’t read many ghost stories, but this one’s had high praise and I’m intrigued.
What Milo Saw also looks very good, reminiscent of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time. I haven’t actually read that yet (it’s sitting on my shelf but books for review just keep getting in the way!) but I love books written from a child’s point of view.
I haven’t got around to reading The Elite yet (the second in the The Selection series) but hopefully getting the third will kick-start me to get back into the series!
Added to my shelves – Kindle purchases
These two both look intriguing – two stories of families wrapped up in a web of lies. I got them for good prices on the Kindle Daily Deals.
Currently Reading
I’m only about 15% through this, but it’s looking good so far. Having been compared to Sliding Doors and One Day, the story presents three different versions of how one couple’s life could turn out. I’m struggling a little bit with the jumping between versions and times, but I love the characters. It’s promising.

This historical paranormal novel was a surprise hit with me – I enjoyed it more than I expected to. You can read my review here.
Coming up this week
I haven’t written the reviews for these two yet, but I’m aiming for this week! Life Or Death was amazing – I was expecting a light read, but I got a lot more than that. I think it’s probably one of my favourite books I’ve read this year. The Confectioner’s Tale was a nice, heart-warming story, but it didn’t blow me away. Full reviews coming up.
