Stacking The Shelves & The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post

As I’m doing the usual book haul post a day late for Tynga’s Stacking The Shelves, I thought that this week I’d link up with The Sunday Post by Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer too. These memes are both about sharing the books added to your shelves this week, and/or events on the blog.

Added to my shelves – for review

Little Brown Books invited me to read this book for review – they made me feel special, so I accepted it! Literary war novels aren’t my favourite thing but when done well they can be truly epic, the sort of book which stays with you for a long time. The publisher are touting this as their debut novel of the year for 2015 – last year it was Everything I Never Told You and I enjoyed that so I’m hoping for good things.

Added to my shelves – freebies

everblue sky

These two both look intriguing – The Sky Is Everywhere is a realistic young adult debut which has received a lot of praise on Goodreads. It looks like quite an emotional ride, exploring a teenager’s grief when her sister dies suddenly. Everblue is about mermaids – something completely different which I’ve never read a novel about before. I’m looking forward to giving it a try.

Currently Reading

I’m just over halfway through this and really enjoying it! It feels just as action-packed as the Divergent, and I’m looking forward to watching the new film once I’ve finished the book.

On the blog last week

This was a great little crime thriller, the first I have read from this author. You can read my review here.

Coming up this week

WitchPainted wallsaround

Two supernatural tales of suspense which I was lucky to secure advanced copies of. One I loved and one not so much. Both reviews will be up later this week.

How was your week in books?

  1. I am curious about Girl at War. Enjoy! And thanks for sharing.

  2. Girl at War sounds really interesting!
I have had the Divergent series for ages and still haven’t read it due to (at the time of buying) university, I feel so behind the times as everyone seems to have already read it and all my non-reader friends rave about the movie. I’ll get round to it at some point…

  3. I feel quite behind on it too, I only read Divergent last year and it’s taken me a year to get around to the second one! It is pretty good though, I would recommend 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Girl at War sounds really good, I’m intrigued now. I really want to read The Sky Is Everywhere, I got it a while ago but still haven’t gotten round to it yet. Great haul! Happy reading!

  5. I wanted to re-read Insurgent last month but unfortunately I didn’t get around to it! Glad that you are enjoying it! The Sky is Everywhere has been on my to-read list for forever, but I haven’t read it yet 😦
    Enjoy your new books!
